Toddler Tornado

This is the cinnamon sugar that was poured into bowls and stirred with the dish scrubber (notice her partner in crime, Woody. Don't let him fool you, he's not the good guy.) ...

This is this cup filled with dish soap and stirred with a baby spoon (and spilled on the counter too)...

This is where the dish soap came from. Notice all the bubbles signaling it was tipped upside down a lot...

This is the dog food filling both the food bowl AND the water bowl, and portions of the floor too. If I could take a picture of myself, I would have showed you me trying not to throw up while putting all the stinky, wet food into a box to put into the compost...

THIS is the little tornado herself. Oh yes, she's totally EATING the dog food. In fact, she loves it...

See, happy, smiling, with a full tummy of dog food. Notice the little bowl that she poured herself. She happened to do all the above within about a half hour time period. I was talking to my sister on the phone obviously not paying enough attention. Lesson learned..

Happy Anniversary Luke, here's to 6 blissful, crazy and spectacular years!

I may not always act like it. I may be distracted with the kids or the computer. But Luke, I adore you more than anyone else in the world and I thank my lucky stars that somehow I ended up with you. How blessed am I???

Halifax Tall Ships Festival

So every few years, sailing ships from all over the world come to the Halifax Harbor for the Tall Ships Festival. (They also travel to other ports too) We saw ships from Russia, the Netherlands, Brazil, Portugal, Maine and others. It was so cool!!! We have a ton of pictures on Facebook but here is a shorter synopsis of it all.

Above is the Bluenose II which is the ship on the Canadian dime. It's hometown is Lunenburg, NS which is a couple hours south (?) of Halifax.

Elle LOVES bubbles so of course we had to take a detour while down at the festival to play in front of this store that had a bubble machine.

Dartmouth Ferry that Luke takes to school sometimes

It was a little surreal to see all these amazing ships all in one place.

Some of the ships shot their loud cannons and made us jump (and Elle cry).

This (above) was one of the ships in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies (the last two movies). Cool huh!

Here it is shooting its cannon.

Don't forget Theodore Tug Boat! His home base is the Halifax Harbor.

This was an amazing experience for us and we experienced the warmest and nicest weather we've had all summer (80 degrees F). It was awesome.

Brier Island

So we went to Brier Island on the southwestern edge of Nova Scotia to go whale watching.

One of the ferries to the island.

We stayed at Brier Island Lodge that has a working farm on it. Elle loved the animals.

Hiking to Seal Cove

Lily sneezing

We thought this was funny.

How Lily spent most of the whale watching cruze.

Elle trying to spot a whale. She was more excited about all the seagulls and birds around than the whales.

Whales!
